How to: Ban/Unban Players (Ban Command)
You may want to use bans and unbans on your server to punish any players that break your server’s rules. When a user is banned, they can do longer connect to your server using the account that was banned. You can do this in a few different ways, check it out.
Use the RCON Console
The RCON console is great because you do not actually need to be online in the server. You can even manage bans and unbans from your mobile device this way.
First, access your RCON console. If you're unsure on how to do that, please take a quick pit stop over our RCON connection guide.
Once you have access you can freely use the ban <playername>
and unban <playername>
commands. You do not need to use the forward slash ("/") before your commands like you normally would while in the game.
Ban Command
In order to use the commands, you'll need to join the server on an account that has Administrator privileges. First you'll need to enter Admin mode by using the /admin
command.
Once you're in Admin mode, enter the command: /ban <playername>
If entered correctly, the given player will be added to the ban list for your server and won't be able to reconnect.
Unban Command
Like the ban command above, you'll need to have Administrator privileges and enter Admin mode.
Once you're in Admim mode, enter the command: /unban <playername>
If entered correctly, the given player will be removed from your ban list and will allowed to connect to your server again.
