Valheim Guides

Valheim Admin Commands

While Valheim has quite a lot of admin commands, many of them are only available on a local server and not a dedicated server. In this guide we will go over the differences in these commands.

Making Yourself An Administrator

Before we begin, you will obviously need to first become an Administrator in order to use any of these commands on your server. Please see our guide here to get that set up.

Accessing The Console

While connected to your Valheim server, you can press the F5 key on your keyboard to open up the console. This is where all of the below commands can be entered. You can use copy and paste commands in here as well!

Dedicated Server Admin Commands

These commands will be able to be used as an Administrator on your Valheim server. These only require you to have "Admin" status and not "imacheater" (explained in the next section) status.

Command Params Description
ban
<name, IP, 64 ID>
Adds the specified player to your server's ban list. They will not be able to enter your server after entering this command, until they are removed from the bannedlist file.

unban
<IP, 64 ID>

Local Server Admin Commands

The following commands require you to not only be an Administrator, but to also have enabled the "imacheater" command. You can do so by opening your console and entering the command: imacheater

This command is currently only available on local Valheim servers, this means it will not work on your dedicated server hosted here.
